This is a fine example of an early Conn cornet, marked Elkhart, Ind. and Worcester (Mass). This features intricate bell engraving, with gold plated highlights. Also featured are fine tuner push rods and the split water key, also found on the Wonder cornets. Included are the original case, mute, A tuning bit, cleaning rod, and period mouthpiece (not Conn). While the case exterior is in somewhat rough condition, the case is generally strong and serviceable.
There are a few minor dents and minimal wear to the finish, including a worn spot on the lower 3rd slide. The most significant issue is that this fine cornet really needs a valve job to address wear. The good news is that this sort of job is not all that expensive and is probably needed because this is a great playing cornet.
